First, the author proposes that our world of three spatial dimensions exists in a four spatial dimension universe and that the orientation of the fourth-dimensional axis is responsible for the forces and energies (i.e. gravity, electromagnetism, strong and weak nuclear forces) associated with the physical laws of nature. This is to say that as there is a two-dimensional graph perpendicular to a three-dimensional graph, and a one-dimensional number line to the two-dimensional graph, that our three-dimensional world exists in a four-dimension space. Also, there exists an axis in the fourth dimension that, when oriented in different directions with respect to the third spatial dimension, causes the forces of gravity, electromagnetism, and the nuclear forces.

Second, the author proposes that the possibility exists to construct a craft that can have effects on the fourth spatial dimension, causing acceleration without propulsion, and that, if sufficient energies are applied, that this craft can and will attain speeds in excess of the speed of light, c, with respect to our third dimensional universe. This is to say that a mechanism can be constructed that can produce its own energy field that will slowly remove this same mechanism from the third dimension and move it into the fourth spatial dimension causing acceleration that will propel the contents of the mechanism at speeds above the speed of light.

The following chapters will describe in detail how the above two theories are possible.
